During the session, participants will gain an understanding of the scientific publishing process, its stages, and the structure of a scientific article, as well as learn more about journal selection, open access publishing, ethical aspects, and other relevant topics. Examples and additional resources will help researchers and doctoral students to prepare and publish scientific articles more successfully, as well as to engage in scientific information exchange and communication.

What you will learn in this session: Participants will gain insight into or expand their existing knowledge of scientific publishing issues and trends. Participants will gain an understanding of the stages of the publication process, the elements of a scientific article, and their importance in disseminating information. They will also learn about ways to choose a journal, open access publishing, ethical aspects, online resources, databases, and other relevant topics.
How this knowledge could be useful: The understanding of scientific publishing gained during the course, as well as tips and examples for researchers and doctoral students, can be useful when writing and publishing articles. This knowledge will also be useful for more successful integration into scientific information exchange and communication. The additional sources of information provided will help to explore the topic in more depth.
Required prior knowledge/technical equipment: computer with an internet connection is required.
