Library of UL in collaboration with EIFL organization provides temporary on-campus and outside campus access to the citation tool scite_ through November 30th, 2021.

Scite is a platform that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations. Smart Citations allow users to see how a scientific paper has been cited by providing the context of the citation and a classification describing whether it provides supporting or contrasting evidence for the cited claim. Scite  is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations – citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contradicting evidence. It includes over 900M citation statements for how methods, arguments, results, claims, datasets, and more are being used.     Scite_ has indexing agreements with various publishers (Wiley, Cambridge University Press, etc.) and sources such as preprint servers (arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, etc.) to be  able to access full-text PDFs and XMLs.

Scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries all over the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.

Scite is  available to all the University of Latvia community through November 30th, 2021.
