The exhibition “Treasures of the Library: Library of Prof. Dr. Embrik Strand” at the Library at Kalpaka Boulevard is now complemented by an audio guide, a narration to the visual material on a touch screen. You are invited to visit the exhibition again to discover this new feature, now available! Narration voice - Agnese Pole, alumnae of UL; recording studio - the UL Radio NABA; language - Latvian.

Exhibition delights with colourful illustrations of butterflies, beetles, various insects and animals, birds and fish as well, the most impressive items from the library collected by its former owner Prof. E. Strand - zoologist, entomologist, arachnologist. The extras are some exhibits from the museums of the University. About Professor Embrik Strand’s academic life in Latvia around the nineteen twenties and thirties tell photographies lent by the Academic Library and Museums of Zoology and Botany of the University of Latvia. Parallel to the viewing of showcases of the exhibition you can also enjoy an interactive visual/audio guide with a detailed narrative which allows you to follow at your own pace. Particularly welcome are our first-year students wishing to familiarize themselves with the University of Latvia for the first time.
