Academic Centre
The Project was created by National Film Centre and Latvian Presidency of the European Union Council Secretariat, marking the Presidency of Latvia of the European Union Council in 2015. Film collection was provided to spread information about the Latvian movies history and with nowadays most important trends in cinema process.
This collection consists of 70 Latvian films: 10 Feature films, 16 Documentary films and 44 Animation films grouped thematically- classical and modern cinema. Additionally to 25 DVDs there is an informative and educational catalog in English and Latvian language of all the films and their authors as well.
The collection includes movies such as "The Swamp Treader", "Four White Shirts", "A Limousine the Colour of Midsummer's eve", "Rocks in My Pockets", which has won several awards, and other films like: "Dream Team 1935", "Mother, I Love You" and other important Latvian movies.
Latvian film selection is available for the University staff on the Library of Kalpaka Boulevard and it is provided for learning process in the University of Latvia.
