
International Open Access Week has become an annual tradition around the world, promoting understanding of the importance of open science approaches in science, research and society. Also this year, from 20 to 26 October, various events will be held in Latvia, Europe and elsewhere in the world, where everyone is invited to learn, learn and discuss open science issues.
International Open Access Week is a time when people and organizations around the world celebrate and talk about the importance of freely accessible scientific research, data and other results. This week, experiences are shared, open science methods, knowledge exchange, research accessibility to the public and the latest news in this field are discussed.
“Open science is not just access to data and publications — it is an opportunity to create an inclusive, transparent and collaborative research environment. The University of Latvia Library is proud to be part of this movement, promoting access to knowledge for everyone,” says Ilona Kauce, Head of the Digital Resources and Research Services Department of the UL Library.
This year, the University of Latvia (UL), in collaboration with the UL Library, the OpenAIRE National Open Access Service, LU Data Curators, and other partners from Latvia and other countries, is offering an extensive online event program.
