On February 26 the virtual exhibition “UL Publications 2015” opened. It was created by the Library of UL. It represented all of the scientific works of the academic units of the UL and manifested the appreciation of the UL in Latvia and the whole world.

Prorectors of the University of Latvia have recognised achievements in their fields: Prof. I.Druviete, Prorector in the field of the humanities and educational sciences: "We worked to turn our intellectual and creative potential into economic benefit, to develop our hereditary culture for centuries to come and to continue to form the core of our national identity. Publications of the faculties and scientific institutions of the University of Latvia are a testimony to the development of our humanities in both width and depth and in recognition." Prof. J.Ikstens: "The representatives of the social sciences have, in their research published in 2015, focused on fundamental problems and on applied research and current events to react on the processes in Latvia and Europe, not only by theoretical analysis, but also striving to elaborate recommendations, to solve the problems of the day." Prof. V.Segliņš, Prorector in the field of exact sciences and life and medical sciences:   "2015, in exact sciences and life and medical sciences, has been a successful year, and probably the first one, concerning publications, when joint scientific and research potential have been able to demonstrate themselves to the whole international scientific community, by offering a whole pleiad of very high-quality scientific works for evaluation and approbation and application in further research as well." Since 2009 it is a tradition for the Library of UL to open virtual exhibitions of publications of the last year within the framework of the annual scientific conferences of UL. The exhibition "UL Publications 2015" was created in a new format of interactive facilities and had a new design - an oak and an oak crown, as a symbol of power, strength and knowledge that has been accumulated for years. Scientific papers of the researchers of UL are in various internet sources and in the biggest libraries of the world, they are published in international databases, where they are given the highest level of scientific relevance. Publications of all years are disclosed in the Database of UL research publications and history. There are monographs, articles in Latvian and foreign scientific editions, conference reports and thesis, bibliographic records of electronic publications, information about publications in the UL Scientific Papers, popular science publications, periodicals, etc.
